Each summer, we offer Cross Country and Track & Field Day Camps at Christian Brothers Academy in Lincroft, NJ.

Track and Field Camp introduces the campers to many track and field events. The campers are introduced to proper technique in each event and then can choose which ones they would like to focus on. It is really fun for them to be able to try some events they may not have tried before, or events in which they don’t usually compete. They certainly gain a lot of appreciation for the different events. We have many current high school athletes helping coach the kids and give encouraging tips on form. These athletes are some of the very best in the state at their particular events, and they are great with the campers! We cover hurdles, sprints and distance on the track. The field events we cover are :: high jump, long jump, triple jump, pole vault, shot put, discus, and javelin. We also cover stretching, drills, proper form. We have a friendly competition on the last day of camp where the campers can choose the events they want to compete in. We award medals at the end. This is one of the highlights of camp. The campers will leave camp inspired and enthusiastic about track and field!
We offer two separate sessions of Track and Field camp for boys and girls ages 7 -17.
2012 dates :: week 1 is june 25-28. week 2 is july 2,3,5,6. (note no camp wed. july 4)
Cost :: $265 if postmarked before June 15. $275 if postmarked after June 15. Cost includes a non-refundable deposit of $100.

Cross Country Camp gets the campers ready for cross country. We cover drills, running form, competing, racing strategy, stretching, injury prevention, and the importance of teamwork. We also talk about how CBA became national cross country champions in 2011. We take a field trip to Holmdel Park to let them run on one of the most famous cross country courses in the country, and let them get a little taste of the hills. They will be running at Holmdel Park if they run cross country in high school, so it is a nice preview of the fun to come! On the last day of camp we hold a friendly 1.5 mile cross country race on the CBA campus. The kids have a lot of fun and they can see the improvement from the first day of camp to the last. We load them up with lots of inspiration for the great sport of distance running.
In 2012 we will only offer one session of Cross Country Camp for boys and girls ages 9-17. Camp will be held July 30 – August 2.
Cost :: $225 if postmarked before June 15. $235 if postmarked after June 15. This includes a non-refundable deposit of $100.
